Hi,
Onyx and Hoss are in need of a place to live. Onyx is a black lab and Hoss is a black lab hound mix. Both are very loving animals with tons of youthfulness in them. We can no longer keep them due to our emergency living situation and need to find a new home for them fast. They are being kept temporarily in a small 2bedroom apartment. Bummer! Its not worth hauling away tin type scrape for "free" anymore. Plus, The State passed a new scrape selling law where you have to give out personal info...weigh/height, hair color,vehicle model/tag # etc and give a ink (thumb) finger print. I dont mind doing all that because they're trying to catch the thieves who steal A/C's etc.

Also, You have to produce a "title" now if you try to scrape a whole car/vehicle. The way around this if you cant get a title, Is to cut the vehicle up in pieces. Hopefully prices will increase eventually because there is big $ to be made but not at these current prices!

I myself have been for a little while....and am going to do more....you never know whats next in this troubled time, a gun is worthless without the ammo for it!!!....you could always use it for a club....If Obama wins and you could still buy it......you may not be able to afford it....I may be crazy(and probably am)...but why take a chance....its going to get ugly....(I hope not though):banghead:doh:letsdrink

PFF Blood Drive Update

Okay these are the details I have so far. We are needing at least 20 people to committ in order for the blood center to bring a bus to our site. That shouldnt be a problem. The blood drive will be held at Emerald Cost Marine on Saturday October 11th. I will nail down a definant time when I speak to the blood center folks tomorrow. I know that there are a few business owners out there in the fishing/hunting industry who are members. I was wondering if your business would be interested in donating some sort of item or items to raffel of as door prizes to those that donate. Dosent have to be high dollar items just somthing to make it more interesting to those that give. To those of you who have never given blood before due to needle shyness there is really nothing to it. It's not near as bad as a wasp sting. Be prepared though. They will ask you a bunch of personal and I mean personal questions so dont be offended. You will be in a private room for the quick 5 minute interview. I really hope we have a big turn out. This will be a great way for members to meet one another and it's for a great cause. How many folks can say "I saved two people's lives today" If all goes well Kenny Mann(Emerald Cost Marine) has offered to have a fall blood drive / cookout for the next one. For the next one, if there is one I would like to get some sponsers and make up a few PFF Blood Drive t-shirts with the sponser name on them. So I need at least 20 warm bodies to committ. Who's in?? I am looking at taking a trip down to Ft. Myers to visit my cousin and to do some snook fishing and possibly going offshore. He has all the offshore equipment we need but not a lot of light tackle stuff. So when I go I will probably be taking 2 rods with me and some tackle. How and are you allowed to pack that on a plane? Since I will be only going for 4 days I am going to fly rather than spend the money on gas to get down there and back. Plus I wont be near as tired after my trip. Any of you that have traveled with your rods and reels please any help would be greatly appreciated.

Giant Roach

I went and looked at a house yesterday out off Avalon. It was near the bay and is a wooden house.......anyway while walking around the outside with my trusty flash light........I came across a gian roach. I don't have a pick but it looked just like a giant hissing roach. I was just wandering if anybody else has ever seen one around here?

This is seriously what it was. I know it's illegal to ship roaches to florida but I'm guessing it was meant for food for a pet lizard or something

Last week my son hit this little one with his truck and cracked the leg bone. We took it to Oak Mountain State Park to the Wildlife Rescue where they have doctored the little girl up and should release it to the herd on the state park within a few weeks.

No I am not a "softy" but I believe in giving them a chance to grow up before I shoot them. :shedevil

I'm sure alot of you saw my son's post (diesel84) this morning about "How did you propose?" You guessed it, he plans on proposing out at Ft McRee this weekend if we can work all the details out and would like assistance from the forum since I know alot of you will already be out there......

He went and bought her a 1.11 ct rock this evening........

The plan is, she gets off of work at noon on Sat., they along with my wife and daughters will meet me at Sherman, hop on and head over to the Ft about 1:30 or so for a relaxinging afternoon. He wants to have a nice banner made asking her and have forum members on the beach holding it or probably unrolling it as I turn the boat around to back in.

As I turn to back in and bark orders for him to get something from downstairs, he'll change, I'll spin the boat to back in, forum members with banner unfurls, he emerges from downstairs in a tux and proposes..........

Think I can get some help with this one guys?

Friends child sick

A friend of mine who lives out of state has an 11 year old who has been sick for a couple of months and loosing weight. They are trying, but have been unable to find anything wrong or that will treat the symptoms. I don't know much else, but I would appreciate any prayer you guys could send his way and for the family. Automotive repair?

My truck is about to drive me nuts :banghead I own a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado with almost 80,000 miles. A couple weeks ago, I noticed I couldn't lock or unlock the truck with the remotes on the key chains. First I thought maybe the batteries had both kicked the bucket at the same time. Then I realized the passenger side power window would not operate at all with either switch :banghead Whats even more confusing is that when I start rolling the doors are supposed to auto lock. The driver lock engages, but the passenger lock does not. Also, when you open the passenger door, the dome lights do not come on. You can close the passenger door, walk around and open the driver door and they come on :doh. I've checked the fuses that I thought would be linked to the problem without any luck.

Has anybody had any similar experience and fixed the problem? I've tried locating a forum for that truck with no luck.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
