Made a late trip last night out to 3 mile. I left my house around 8:30 and made it to 17th by about 9:30 after stopping for gas and snacks. At first the wind was laying down and my girlfriend caught a keeper white trout within 3 minutes of getting her bait in the water. I was taking the trout off for her and my rod bowed over in the holder and started singing. It was one of the bigger reds I have hung at 3 mile and it proved to be to much for my penn 103 c with 15 lb mono. He took me to the bridge and wrapped me up. He was so big he was actually pulling the boat around Soon after that the wind picked back up and the tide slowed down, we fished for about 2 more hours until the wind was just too much to deal with. We only managed 4 white trout and the red I broke off was the only one I hung all night. Oh well at least I was on the water, and the reds are still out and about. We fished with powerbait mullet, and the red I hung was on a gulp smoke mullet. Oh well, we'll get 'em next time.
