| We checked Reefcast this morning & made the call to go for it. Seas were 2' chops but not bad. We were on the water by 9:30 and getting live cigar minnows from the Live Bait Boat at 10am. At the Liberty Ship area, there were HUUUUUGE schools of bluefish busting the water the entire day!!! We started by trolling 3 lines - 2 surface with live bait rigs & dusters, & 1 turbo rattler on the starboard downrigger, down about 45 feet (the swivel mount on the port downrigger needs to be tightened so we didn't use it). We trolled for about 20 minutes & then the 850ss on the downrigger went off - I had my first King of the day on. It didn't make that big of a run until it got boatside - where it refused to meet the gaff - lol - it made at least 8 tough but short runs trying to get away. De-hooked & thrown back. It was about 12lbs. Decided to anchor over the wreck since that's where the bait & fish seemed to be concentrated. Scott stayed at the back of the boat, put out a balloon, and bottom fished while I went up front and casted to Cudas that were stalking them blues. The 3 Cudas were all 20lbs (unless it was the same one over and over again - haha). Scott had a VERY nice fish hit his live cig on the bottom - but it took the hook off (we found out the circle hooks he was using apparently have an opening in the eye = not buying those again :P..). He also got Red Snapper on the cigs & then a 4' shark. Called it a day and we were back on the hill at 4. Boat is cleaned up and now I want a shower and fooooood! Here's a few pics. Me on a Cuda Stake-Out :P

Yupp, We were Anchored Pretty Good - lol

Dang, that anchor is torn up! Is it bad for the reef to use those? Never used the grapple hook types.

I was on the tex edwards then the liberty ship on sunday. It was ugly out there. I got hooked up 3 times and it snapped 60' test all three times. Thinking it was that shark maybe. Good fishing!
