Okay these are the details I have so far. We are needing at least 20 people to committ in order for the blood center to bring a bus to our site. That shouldnt be a problem. The blood drive will be held at Emerald Cost Marine on Saturday October 11th. I will nail down a definant time when I speak to the blood center folks tomorrow. I know that there are a few business owners out there in the fishing/hunting industry who are members. I was wondering if your business would be interested in donating some sort of item or items to raffel of as door prizes to those that donate. Dosent have to be high dollar items just somthing to make it more interesting to those that give. To those of you who have never given blood before due to needle shyness there is really nothing to it. It's not near as bad as a wasp sting. Be prepared though. They will ask you a bunch of personal and I mean personal questions so dont be offended. You will be in a private room for the quick 5 minute interview. I really hope we have a big turn out. This will be a great way for members to meet one another and it's for a great cause. How many folks can say "I saved two people's lives today" If all goes well Kenny Mann(Emerald Cost Marine) has offered to have a fall blood drive / cookout for the next one. For the next one, if there is one I would like to get some sponsers and make up a few PFF Blood Drive t-shirts with the sponser name on them. So I need at least 20 warm bodies to committ. Who's in?? EDIT...... If you are interested in donating somthing for a raffel please pm me. Thanks

That's what you gotta do. Just committ and then you will feel like someone is counting on you and you wont let them down.... Wait...that's me, I am counting on you. I must be honest. Im 39 years old and just gave blood for the first time about 6 months ago. I am/was terafied of needles. But. It was somthing that I have always wanted to do so I just finally made myself do it. The bus comes to our office ever so often and when the e-mail came around looking for volinteers I finally signed up. Once i made the commitment ther was no backing out. I have donated a few times now. I cant believe it took me so long. There is really nothing to it and it makes you feel good about yourself. Thanks for sighing up. I

I'm one of the few guys that deployed a bunch and can still give....

... unfortunately Northwest Florida Blood Center knows I'm O-Neg (a baby saver) so I give every couple months - over three gallons to date. Last donation was less then 4 weeks ago.

Dude's if you've never saved a life - try it once. After you do, walk out and say, "I just saved a life". If O-Neg say, "I just saved 4 baby's" and buy yourself a beer because it's true.

Probably should have this topic pinned to the top. If nothing comes up I will be there.

I'm in.  I'm not a regular donor, but I have donated many pints over the years.  Doing it the first time is the battle.  Once you do, it is no big deal and it feels good to be helping others.

Yep I'm in fo sho! and I am calling out all you big bad hunters and fisherman. We have all had hooks buried in our hands and arms and that hurts a hell of a lot worse than giving blood. You can clean fish and field dress a deer so I know you can do this.

I can also volunteer my time that day if you need me to. I don't usually have anything to do on Saturdays. So if you need me to help greet people or hand out the cookies and juice, I can.

I give on a regular schedule here at work and I am within the window of when I can not give.  They come to our office like clockwork on the scheduled 6 weeks that you can give.  I have finally given enough that they are finally sending me invites to all the Blood Bank dinners that they throw for their big donors and sponsors.  I have given about 5 gallons to date.  I am O+ so they tend to remind me of when I skip a donation period her at the office.

Let me know when and where and, if I am in town, I will be there.

194 views and only 13 donor's so far. Gotta have at least 20. This is not just for members. Bring a friend, your spouse, your neighbor, and anybody else you can think of.

So far nothing has come up in my schedule either day.  I'll plan on donating.  I haven't done any artwork in a while, but if I come up with any worthwhile for a donation to the raffle, count me in for that as well.
