12-17-08 TEAMGET BENT, and her crew of shooting lads are off once again. Mike Boitnott, Robert Gill, and his son Matt make up the days crew. Matt is a Marine home on leave from Okinawa, Japan, and is all about this being his first spearfishing trip. We are greeted by heavy fog, and glassy conditions. Father and son Gill are already in wetsuits as we head out  but hey, its all good. We arrive at our first spot, suit up and splash. After yesterdays debacle, I have high hopes for today. We find 10 foot vis at best and a couple of flounder, but Gill, Gill, and Boitnott all shoot nice Grouper, a few flounder, and I come up with nothing. Am I cursed, who knows.

We blast over to the next spot, and find 15 foot vis, and once again THEY all got shots on some nice Grouper but I drew a blank. For the record I did see a HUGE Gag swimming down the wreck that was just out of range and probably would have beaten me silly if I could have gotten close enough to shoot. No joy!

Southbound we go, and finally we find good, clean, water, and Flounder. We all get in on plinking flatfish, see a bunch of rocket fast Blackfin Tuna, get shadowed by a 5 foot Grey Reef Shark, and see a Stingray that was about 400 pounds. The dive was awsome and thus our day ended. Thirteen Flounder, one Amberjack, and seven Grouper. All in all not a bad day, except I only shot three Flounder.

No, I think the visability made the biggest difference,  They just got careless, and got smoked.

Good looking mess of fish. Know what you mean about the fog. Seems that all had a good day on the water. Thanks for posting your trip with pictures. Gene
