excerpt from a list of rules as presented by the owner of this forum: "-On any item or service that is listed in any section of this forum that will receive funds that are to be donated to a charity or a person(s) in need, the winning bidder WILL NOT pay the person who listed the item or service period. Payment will be made to me, Chris Couture and I will make sure that the intended party receives 100% of the money."
That was put in place by Chris after this whole fiasco and as a result of this whole mess I believe.

even if they do find him, im assuming none of us will find out about it, save for the few cops on here, cuz of all the discretion laws and such. maybe they'll leak us some info!!! 
i've tried to stay out of this because of not knowing all the details and such but if it is as yall are portraying it, this is a (and i am trying to speak in conservatives here) very low, low thing to do...stealing from a kid

I apologize for entering the forum late, but I had "Googled" the aircraft tail number N5467W and found your forum. I read all posts and replies and am still a bit confused. Is the person who owns this airplane the person you are referring to as "Bat38"? The reason I ask, is I found the above aircraft for sale on Ebay and was seriously considering making a bid on the craft when I found this forum. Thanks for your time and before I leave, Chris (I apologize for using your given name as I don't know your surname, I lost two grandparents to that disease, you have mine and my family's prayers as well. hopefully he's selling it to pay court cost.....anthony, yes 38bat is the owner of this aircraft. I also read at the bottom under 'questions' where he wrote someone back and signed it 'joe' which is the con artist real name. thank you for letting us know the plane was on ebay

Anthony, Thank you so much for your post here and be sure to avoid this guy on E-bay! He is a scammer for sure! He offered a plane ride and would donate the winning bid to help this kid with cancer. He took the money and ran! He was not too smart about it though and things are starting to catch up with him I guess.

Joe, is everything OK? I am asking you this because you really did a family in need wrong by taking a donation that was given to you for a plane ride and using it for another purpose. If you are having hard times of your own, I am sorry to hear and wish you and your family the best! I would assume that by selling your plane, you are having problems. It’s no wonder with the economy like it is, many families are struggling to make ends meet. If this is the case, I wish you the best of luck and am really upset with the outcome of this whole plane ride deal. If you would like to talk, I’m available! If I do not hear from you, I still wish you the best of luck in the future unless your plans are to deceive others and con them out of money!

chris, i doubt he'll respond. I love how in this ad he states that he flies the plane regularly, I'm not sure what the cost of 100LL is right now but i'd guess in the neighborhood of 4 bucks a gallon....I've spent some time (hundred hours or so) in a pa-28 160 just like this one and i've always aired on the side of caution and rounded upto 10gph fuel burn....so figure 40 bucks an hour. Plus he states he's moving upto a twin engine aircraft. all of this while he's sitting on several hundred dollars he scammed from 2 well intentioned people and a sick child. pitiful, but we've discussed this in PMs, and if he truly is in a rough spot financially I hope he takes care of his obligations to chandler and then gets his life in order

| oh, man, I'm pizzed. I somehow missed this thread until this morning. I remember the auction and the thread about the boy though. man, this really gets me. I'm a father of a sick little girl and it gets really expensive to care for sick kids. Its not just the medical bills directly, its all the things going on in conjuction. hosipital stays cost money for transportation as we (this area) typically have to travel long distances to regional care facilities. That means eating out a lot, long distance phone calls, making amends for the other kids at home, etc, etc, etc. It gets really expensive. My daughter is 5, most of her hositpital stays were between 0-2 years old and I'm still paying for expenses accured then. Routine, constant doctors visits out of town, on and on. Its a lot of money, even with good medical insurance. To see some bastard scam a few hundred bucks that someone donated to help a family out in a time like this. man, and to think, well, what can you say? we ain't suppose to judge, but man, I sure would like to grab a milestone and a short rope when I hear stories like this

The up date is that he did paypal me the money and I recieved it Friday , Joel with the help of Tuna man had got the guys number. Joel spoke with him via e-mail and I tried to contact him on the phone but he never would answer. He did send me an e-mail wanting my adress but I wasn't going to give it to him and he finally responded by email saying he was going to send it through paypal.
