i've got a 7mm and a 7mm-08. i shoot the 7-08 some but the other is more than you need around here, i won it at a NRA banquet otherwise i would not have it, that meaning i would not go out and buy it.

I have two Sako rifles. One in 270 and one in 308. Nice shooters.

For the $$ you might consider looking at the Tikka T3 lite. They are owned by Sako, and they are manufactured in Sako's factory in Finland.
I have the T3 lite in stainless 7mm-08, and you can buy them in powder coat finish for less than $500 bucks.
They shoot remarkable groups at 100 yards and are no frill shooters.

X 2 tikka all the way x 3 on the tikka's. I have a 300wsm and 308. Both will shoot sub moa groups at 100yds. Sako's have the same guarantee.

I have a Tikka in 30-06 and it is every bit the shooter that my two Sako's are. I would buy another Tikka in a heartbeat. With the money you save on the gun you can put some nice glass on top. Great suggestion from the guys above.
