I got my first deer of the year this morning at Blue Springs WMA. It was a 105# spike, so, it's nothing to brag about, but it's meat in the freezer. I got up in the tree a little bit late (right at day-break) and got settled in. Even with the moon up all night, I heard quite a few shots before mine. At 7:20 he came out bout 50 yards out in the open. I dropped the 30-30 on him and missed!!! He ran down the hill, then bout 10 minutes later he came up on the left side of the hill bout 75 yards away in a bunch of pines, and BAM, he hit the ground this time! Like I say, nothing to brag about but I'm already licking my chops!

| He's a legal deer and the first of the year. That is something to brag about. Enjoy the meat. Now that the monkey is off of your back, good hunting the rest of the season.
