| I am thinking about buying a JBL elite woody magnum soon. Has anybody used this gun or know anybody with the elite woody series model? I have never even seen this gun, but I like the fact that it only has two bands and there is no metal on them. How does it hold up against an ab biller? I can get a 'biller 48 for about the same price but the JBL is larger and more powerful. Any input would be great, I can't find many reviews on the elite woody series. Thanks!

I have the 38 Special Elite and love it. It has the open muzzle and kevlar bands like a Riffe. It is accurate and packs a good punch, I have even landed AJs that came in too close while I was hunting for reef fish.

I used an old JBL woody magnum from a pawnshop that was my first gun, and used it for 3 years. That thing was indestrutable, and I abused it.
However, the new JBL woodies comming out of the factory the last couple years? Completely different quality. I have had to return one, and go thru 3 difernet shafts till it worked right. Also watched one fire completely by itself out of the water.
Fenderbender, flyinfisher, rocklobster, and DKdiver can tell you more of the same. There trigger housings and handles are a much thinner and inferior plastic, there tolerences on the metal machining and quality control is pathetic. I hate to say it.
Thats my experience anyways.
