| Flat seas & one GREAT day on the Gulf! We went to a rocky bottom in 80 feet of water & had a steady bite alllll day long. :-) Thank goodness - it is about time! lol... Air Temp: 73, Water Temp: 62... Winds: light from the North, turning South in the afternoon We caught a LOT of ruby lips & put one on a balloon & let it float out beside the boat a ways (because we had something brown come to the surface behind the boat and cause some commotion this morning when we first got there & started chumming). 15 minutes later = ZZzzzzz..... The mystery fish took the ruby lip but missed the hook. D*mn. :-) Wish it had of been a COBIA & took that hook! We also had a LOT of silver snapper (I assume that's what they were - - silver & iridescent-like colors...). In addition, we caught several gag & black groupers & 1 red grouper 15". I used my sabiki and tipped it with squid and caught the tiniest gag I had ever seen - so cute - he/she was all of 4" long. :-D All of our fish were caught on medium to small hooks with cut-up squid. What a day! This makes up for all the days we got skunked this Winter! :-)
