cyd (8/12/2008) How much would you guestimate it would cost to get it installed? Not enough info for an accurate estimate. Do you need pilings installed? How about the electrical work? How long is the run from your house to the pier (for proper wire gauge)? Check the phone book under marine contractors and get some estimates. Just make sure they are reputable and the estimate includes all the work. Also, make sure that the pilings are driven at least 8' into the sand. Some fly-by-night installers will cut the pilings off at the top if they hit hard pan. Another option is to get someone to sink the pilings, someone else to run the wires/conduit form house to lift, and an electrician to do the final connections. You'll save a lot of money if you run the wires/conduit yourself vice paying an electrician to do the digging. Just ask the electrician what gauge wires are required. Most of them would rather not dig or get wet running the wire under the pier. Also, check around with your neighbors for references.

cyd (8/12/2008) How much would you guestimate it would cost to get it installed?I would Guess $2000 to $2500, plus however m,uch it costs to run electric to your installation spot. Hard to sya, in todays economic climate, you may find a deal from someoe needing the work. The Pylons cost about $1000 of that $2000+.
