| Went out for a little midday sight fishing today. Lots of fish were seen but it was very hard to entice a bite. Deadsticking a Gulp! in front of them was about the only way I got these fish to eat. Fished for a couple hours and caught 3 decent reds. 18-23". The wind picked up and I couldnt see any more so I took it to the house. I was also testing a new jig head that was given to me by Fisherman's Enterprises. It was a 1/8oz red head with a tremendously sharp hook. I went 3 for 3 on fish today and will continue to use it in the future. It has one of the sharpest hooks Ive found on a jig head. Kept this 19" fish for dinner!

| Deadsticking, that's about the only thing I didn't try yesterday. I did let a few gulps sit for a few seconds and slooooowed my retrieve way down, but I couldn't get a bite. Glad you had some luck!

| Way to go Brant! Good diligence with the Red. Once you caught one did the fish stick around or did you keep moving? What's your preference? going down stream once they flee, or up stream? Go Noles!

Nice fish Brant!!! I was out in Blackwater on Sunday fishing in the grass and got into a school of reds but the bite never really picked up for me either. Ended up catching 2 rats. Then like you said the wind picked up so we headed to one of our other holes and caught a 22" and 24" red. We caught ours on the gold spoon and 5" Bass Assassin jerk shad.

| We stayed in the grass; I was determind to scout some little channels I had never gotten into with the Bay Pirate! We used, Gulp Jerk Baits, Flats Assassin Gold Spoons, Skitterwalks, Mirror lures, Eletric Chicken, She-dogs and I'm sure I'm forgett'n something. We did see fish but could identify only one group as reds for sure when I saw the bronze back as one moved by and rolled in the shallows! Glad somebody caught something! We were SKUNKED!

| Thanks for the replies guys! The fish have been very spooky the last few weeks and its because they are being pushed hard. Believe me the fish are there. Try taking a different approach next time. Alot of times you will push a group of redfish before you even get a good cast on them. Im sure all of you are familiar with seeing a group of fish wake well out of casting range and when you get up to them all you see are mud boils. Yep thats redfish! Those redfish are in that spot for a reason, whether it be some sort of food they like, or the water temp was just right for them. Believe me, if you take a short break and wait, the fish will return. Try backing off the spot where you pushed the fish out of and give them some time to settle back in. I did this just yesterday with a group of fish. I saw them making wakes in a spot about 50yds in front of my boat. When I got within casting distance all the fish had moved. I backed up about 20yds, put the anchor down, ate a sandwhich, and within 15 minutes I had a school of 10 or so fish within 20yds of my boat and was able to make an easy cast on them for an instant hook up. The worse thing you can do is push these fish further and further away from where they want to be. Brant Peacher Tackle Rep
