Me and Nick (stumpknocker) got out for a afternoon trip around the bay and pass today... chilly breezy day but nice and once we found the fish the bite was on fire until we ran out of live (and dead) shrimp.  After that they wouldn't even touch a gulp, and it was gettin pretty cold so we headed in happy.

Forgot the anchor at home so we ended up beaching it and walking out and fishing the jetty.  I'd never tried Pline before, but picked up a $3.00 spool of 10lb at the Outcast sale and put it on a little Daiwa combo... needless to say I hooked into a 29 inch-ish redfish on it and she managed to get wrapped around a bouy marker and was pulling hard.. I could feel the bouy rubbing up against my line through the rod.  I thought for sure I'd lose the fish after a bit of that but freespooled it and she swam out and I was able to land her.  Not bad for monofilament!!!  I truly believe other line of that lb. test would have popped under that abrasion.. I'm sold on the Pline now.

All fished released to fight another day, total of 2 nice redfish (one 27 incher) a good sheepie, 3 black drum and the biggest pinfish i have ever caught in my life.  Great day for about an hour and a half fishing time.

Man what a report! Were you using the cxxx-tra strong or the standard P-line. I might have to try some of that stuff. It is funny how certain name brand lines get such a foothold in some areas. P-line is huge on the West Coast, but around here Ande has always been the king. Those were some great pics with your report. Thanks.

Sounds like a good day all in all. It was a bit cold and the weather man seems to be off lately. Next time I will make the drive out to the water. Thanks for posting.

Sweet report! I had a bobo do the same thing to me on the pier, just stuck on the pilon and I was finally able to get it off after about 2 minutes. Its awesome when you are able to battle through it.

I too bought some of the P-Line from the outcast sale. Haven't used it yet. It is good to hear that it is some good quality stuff. I was not expecting it to be that good for 3.00 a spool. Thanks for the info.

Yeah, I'm kicking myself now for not buying some in the 20 lb test version!
